Beresky, J. WebsiteJennifer L. Beresky

Associate Jennifer L. Beresky assists clients in the oil and gas industry with transactional and litigation matters.

With extensive experience handling due diligence, title curative measures and certified title opinions, Ms. Beresky’s transactional practice has a particular emphasis on complex certified title opinions involving issues with unreleased leases, producing wells located on researched properties, and chain of title irregularities. She also manages closings for purchasers of oil and gas rights, including drafting mineral deeds and affidavits of non-compliance, and any other documents needed to complete a transaction.

In addition, Ms. Beresky defends energy companies in a wide range of oil and gas litigation, including quiet title claims, contract disputes and personal injury claims.

Prior to joining Burns White, Ms. Beresky was a title abstractor at a land lease acquisition, project management and title firm, where she alerted exploration and production company clients of any severances of mineral rights and other potential issues found in chains of title research.

Ms. Beresky received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law, and her Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.  While in law school, she interned at the U.S. Commercial Service, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, as well as for Judge Arnold I. Klein, Family Division, Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. She also clerked at the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service.
